Wonderful, amazing, loved, valued and unique...God made you this way.
Our school is a church school with strong Christian foundations. We aim to provide the very best for every child in our school and to help them to reach their potential within a safe and secure Christian environment. This is based on John 10:10
I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.'
At The Manor School, our six core Christian values — respect, kindness, honesty, forgiveness, courage, and confidence — underpin all we do and all we are about. They provide us with a moral compass to guide our behaviour and thinking.
At our school, we aim to provide the best possible learning experiences for all of our pupils. Our rich curriculum provides children with a wealth of experiences to ensure that not only are they prepared for the next step of education, but also to promote a love of lifelong learning. We aim to build solid foundations in English, maths, science, and ICT while ensuring they receive a rich and broad learning experience.
Our teaching philosophy is simple: we aim to combine the best of tried-and-tested methodology with new and innovative ways of teaching.
At The Manor School, we actively promote British values through our school vision, ethos, agreed rules, curriculum, and teaching. As such, we promote tolerance of, and respect for, people of all faiths (or those with no faith), cultures, and lifestyles.
We prepare children and young people positively for life in modern Britain by supporting them through our words, actions, and influence, not just within school, but also within the wider community.
Promoting Our Values
The government defines British values as:
Rule of law.
Tolerance of those of different faiths.
At The Manor School, we value the diverse ethnic backgrounds of all pupils and families and undertake a variety of events and lessons to celebrate these. We have found this approach to be enriching for all parties as it teaches tolerance and respect for the differences in our community and the wider world. Underpinning all of this is a range of curriculum topics that have strong links to the British Empire. We actively challenge children, staff, and parents expressing opinions contrary to fundamental British values, including ‘extremist’ views.
As part of The White Horse Federation, we passionately believe that by working together, the children are able to have a higher quality of education, and that as colleagues, we will also benefit from and reap the rewards of a values-based organisation where no one is left behind.
At the heart of The White Horse Federation is a belief in using collaboration to provide a first-class education to a wide range of children. This means that every child understands what they are capable of, and can collectively strive for excellence.
