Last week, eight year 6 pupils from The Manor attended the key stage 2 hockey festival at Stonar School in Atworth. Joining other children from a number of local schools, our eight hockey stars represented The Manor wonderfully.
The event kicked off with a series of skills-based activities organised by year 10 students at Stonar School. Over the course of the event, pupils also competed in various mini-games, testing the skills they had learned earlier in the day.
Later this month, our pupils will be able to put their new skills into practice as they compete in a hockey tournament. Developing their skills at the hockey festival has been great preparation, and our pupils can’t wait to show off their abilities in a real competition!
At The Manor, we believe that physical exercise is an important part of a healthy childhood. Team sports, such as hockey, make exercise fun and teach our pupils how to work together toward a common goal.
Everyone who attended the festival had a really fun day, and it was great to be part of an event that brought local schools together. We’d like to thank Stonar School for hosting the event and congratulate everyone who took part. We’re so proud of our hockey stars!
